The Beginning is Always the Hardest – Do Not Be Discouraged by Difficulties – Venerable Thich Phap Hoa

The ancients taught that all important tasks we undertake encounter obstacles at the beginning. It is these very obstacles that help us reach success, for we learn from them and develop the determination needed for our work.

The Power of Perseverance and Determination

Looking back on the years, if we did not have the will to live, how could we have achieved what we have today?

If we did not have the determination to overcome difficulties, how could we have attained success?

Life never easily grants us anything. Even something as simple as making friends — is that easy? If we love someone, we must persist in our pursuit, finding a way to make them fall in love with us. This principle applies not only in work but in every area of life. Therefore, no task is easy; what matters is whether we have the willpower to carry it out.
